Get to know me

From Arequipa to the World

Born in the charming city of Arequipa, Peru, the rich culture and impressive colonial architecture set the stage for my upbringing. Although my path initially led me towards metallurgy, sharing this passion with my husband while raising our two precious children, my love for art always burned within me. Eventually, I decided to pivot my career and explore my latent passion for painting. It was in a workshop in Antofagasta, Chile, where I discovered my true calling as a painter, experimenting with various techniques such as oil, acrylic, resin, and watercolor. Throughout my artistic journey, I have always been struck by the beauty of the human body, and through my works, I seek to capture the grace, strength, and vulnerability that characterize it, infusing each brushstroke with the love and experience of a life dedicated to art and family.

People and Culture: A Peruvian Influence

One of five siblings, the influence of my people and Peruvian culture has left an indelible mark on my art, especially in my representation of the human body. From the majesty of the mountains to the grace of folkloric attire, every aspect of life has enriched my understanding and appreciation for the human form. Traditions deeply rooted in the city, such as religious festivities and family celebrations, have shaped my interpretation of the body as an expression of cultural identity and spiritual connection. Through my brushes, I seek to capture the beauty and diversity of people, infusing my works with the human warmth and vitality that characterize them.

Journey and Inspiration: Painting the World

My journey as an artist has been a voyage filled with discoveries and exciting opportunities. My passion for painting led me to participate in a series of solo and group exhibitions in Chile, Spain, Italy, Mexico, and my homeland, Peru. Each exhibition was an opportunity to share my unique vision with the world and connect with other art enthusiasts. Additionally, my thirst for knowledge took me to Australia, where I learned new techniques that further enriched my style and artistic approach. Through each experience, I have found inspiration in the cultural diversity and beauty of the world around me, carrying a piece of my Peruvian heart to every corner of the globe.
